Living in the Southwest United States, the Navajo Indian clan is perhaps the biggest clan in America today. In their own language, they allude to themselves as Dinã © which implies â€Å"the people†. They are an old clan with relatives following their underlying foundations back to the thirteenth century. The primary contact that the Navajos had with white pioneers was during the Mexican American War in 1846. The United States directed serene relations with the Navajo for more than fifteen years. Fortresses were worked to help shield the Navajo from Spanish/Mexican attacks on the Navajo’s steers. Inevitably, another military administrator, James H. Carleton, was named in New Mexico and he started to attack Navajo lands intensely. He requested the Navajo to give up. At the point when most of the Navajo cannot, their harvests were pulverized and they had to leave their territories in what is called ‘The Long Walk’. They had to a booking in Fort Sumter, New M exico somewhere in the range of 300 miles away.
